Video with color illustrations
Slideshow with the latest color illustrations. Many of the illustrations are from new series that has a working title “Beautiful women” or “Dolls” as one of my friends named them. I am still looking for a good title so it could change. Feel free to send me your suggestions! 🙂
I had a feeling that there was still something missing, though. So I picked up two coloring books that I have at home. My favorite is Millie Marotta’s adult colouring book Animal Kingdom. I asked myself what made this book to stand out apart from beautifully detailed illustrations. And then I saw it. There were some illustrations that had a white space left for the reader & artist to doodle and draw her/his own patterns. I liked that a lot. So I started working on a new section of my coloring book. This part of the book would have illustrations offering an opportunity for the reader to be extra creative. On top of applying colors, he/she could draw and doodle!
This short video above shows how a mermaid is drawn for the third section of Fantastic Landscapes coloring book.
This video was inspired by International Dot Day. I, my sister and her six years old son Niko did small paintings and drawing for the Dot Day. After we shared them Niko asked me how I did mine. Since I always wanted to try creating a video about some of the creative processes this was a good opportunity. The reason why the video was a good format for sharing this process with Niko is also that we live quite far – he lives in Glasgow with his mum, dad, and little brother, while I live with my family in Prague. So this is my first ‘tutorial’ video. Have fun! If you do share with me your creations. Let’s create together!
The basic steps
First paint bubbles of different colors with a large soft brush. Make sure to wash your brush frequently with clean water to prevent your colors from going muddy.
Dip a much smaller brush in water and paint and splash the paint with quick moves randomly over your paper. Repeat with different colors of your choice.
After washing your small brush dip it again in the paint of your choice and make small dots of various size and color around or even over the bubbles. Use different colors and don’s wet your brush too much.
Let your painting dry or use a hairdryer to speed it up! Then dip your large brush in a vivid color of your choice and make several strokes across the lower part of your painting. Do not repeat so that your new layer stays nicely transparent.

Interview about art in living spaces
My first video creation with Lucia Heverova about art, art in living spaces and ARTUARE. It was a great experience and fun! Thank you, Luci. 🙂
