A creative post from my lovely sister Zuzana.
“One rainy winter day with nothing much to do, me and my son Niko sat down and looked at what we have in our little art box. There was only some paint left and as we had no paper left we were stuck. ‘Mummy, what shall we do now as we have nothing to paint on?” Then I spotted few stones sitting next to our kitchen door which were brought in by my younger boy from our local play park and showed them to Niko. So we both sat down and started to slowly create our wee ‘stone villages’. It was such a nice and peaceful time. Niko completely focused, carefully choosing his colours, slowly painting all necessary doors and windows.
Next day, I made a wee ‘stone family’ picture with a tree and a sun. I picked up few small stones from our patio and super-glued them to a picture frame. For the tree trunk I used a small piece of a string. Niko wanted me to make faces on the people so I decided to make a new ‘family portrait’ and painted four stones and made wee faces on them and used a super-glue (again) to stuck them to a piece of bark framing it with an old photo frame.
My and Niko have discovered how much fun is to paint on stones. Any size or type or colour is good and they are everywhere around us. Next time, we may focus on sticks :).”
